Audio-visual alarm device Type AVS 4 and AVS 4.1

The intrinsically safe audio-visual alarm devices AVS 4 and AVS 4.1 have been developed to conform with the ATEX directive 94/9/EG. They fulfil the standards EN 60079-0, EN 60079- 11, EN 61000 and EN 50303.

The devices consist of the signal generator proper which is mounted on a terminal box . The terminal box is made out of anti-static polyester resin. The devices can be suspended by a steel hanger. For mounting it rigidly threaded holes are provided on the rear of the device.

The devices have two alarm levels with one control input each. Alarm level 1 has a signal frequency of 0.5 Hz and the alarm level 2 a frequency of 1 Hz. Alarm level 2 has a priority over alarm level 1. The potential free inputs (optocoupler inputs) operate either by quiescent or by operating current.

The signal radiation occurs in all directions. The alarms can be switched off manually till the next alarm initiation.

The optical signal device is equipped with ten ultrabright light diodes. It pulses with the frequency of the alarm level 1 or alarm level 2.

The acoustic signal device consists of a tone generator which produces a sweeping signal. The AVS 4 switches the acoustic signal by alarm level 1 or alarm level 2, AVS 4.1 switches the acoustic signal only by alarm level 2.
